Volks, Tired of reading bad reviews of the Type2 T4s? Then pick up the January 18, 1999 issue of Autoweek. Steve Thompson writes an extremely pro EV review. I'm awaiting Autoweeks permission to post the entire article, but until I receive it, here's a teaser. "Jekyll-and-Hyde vans" <snip> "Many full-size vans allow the Jekyll-and-Hyde reconfiguration of a kid hauler into a weekend warrior's moto-hauler. But in my experience, the only smaller van in the market today that can pull it off easily is the Eurovan, which VW tried to sell here a half-dozen years ago in its current, front-wheel-drive configuration as a "midsize" van rather than a minivan." Steve goes on to extoll the virtues of larger than s---box smaller than full size. Well worth a read and as soon as I receive permission, I'll post the entire text. (Gotta fax a copy of the article to them with an explanation of EXACTLY what I want to do with it...) Jim Arnott WetWesties Union, OR |
