Volks - Anyone tried to get into EPA regulations, on the Net, which might explain this business involving swapping an engine "older" than one's vehicle one is swapping it into? Jeez! Best I could do is find a few "hot-rod" sites!!! Even learned a new term, obviously from California, of "smogged". Seems, as an example, in the PRC (People's Republic of California), the consensus is that a '71 Chevy with a '69 engine will be "smogged" as a '71. A '69 Chevy with a '71 engine will be "smogged as a '71, too. Gee, at least the legislators in the PRC are, uh, consistent? So far, our "wise men" in TN still understand that the "smog" in the valley around the Chattanooga Valley is still a result of natural "inversions" rather than automobiles. Can SOMEONE direct me to EPA regulations that are destined to keep me from placing a 1200cc Harley Hog engine or a 1600cc VW air-cooled into my Vanagon???
