I have a thing called a Stove-To-Go made by Max Burton, and it is pretty close to a crockpot. It's lunchpail size. about 10"x7"x7", runs off the cigaette lighter, but also plugs into 110V if you're connected to shore power. It's very popular with truckers, and you can usually find them at the big truck-stops. They heat up sandwiches nicely, we've used them canned food like spagetti-o's for the kids, frozen food like shrimp come out great in them. You put an aluminium liner in it and put the contents of the can in the liner, plug it in and cook while you drive. Anything you can wrap in tin-foil or put in the liner works. I've used it on several trips and been happy with it. I think they cost about $30. Don Kane dkane@mail.arc.nasa.gov |
