I thought this had to go up to the fuse box? It is my understanding that the existing wire cannot handle the amps and loads down the electrical system and thus provides less than 12V to accesories and or lights, etc.? VW put the 90 Amp in as of Oct 82 as an option? My 82 was before this time. Did VW make any wiring differences between the 45, 65 to --> 90 Amp?

Also, If I use the Bosch 90 amp alternator, is there any modifications needed in the alternator bracket or wiring connections?
