Bob, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here. I think when Bentley reports wire sizes in mm they are referring to the cross sectional area in square mm. I don't think they are using the diameter of the wire in mm. As Harold pointed out the Bentley on page 97.4 says: "Wire Size/Color American Wire Gauge (awg) as shown, or metric cross section........" I believe a cross section is measured by its surface area, in this case square mm.

For instance, in the discussion that generated this wire size question, we found that the Bentley referred to two wire sizes that supply the fridge set up and the auxiliary battery set up. It shows a 6.0 mm wire for the auxiliary battery set up. If we interpret the 6.0 mm to be a diameter, then according to your numbers below we would be looking for an AWG #3 wire to the auxiliary battery compartment. A #3 AWG wire is almost .25 inches in diameter not including the insulation. That's huge. I don't think you will find that size wire in the auxiliary battery compartment. However, if we interpret the 6.0 mm to be a cross sectional area of 6.0 mm, then the wire gage we would be looking for would be a little larger than #10 AWG and would have a wire diameter of about 1/10th of an inch not including the insulation. I think that is much more likely to be found in the auxiliary battery compartment. Perhaps I am wrong about this. Anyway.... what do you think?
