Subject: Re: alternator upgrade

Bill; The route current takes from the alternator is first to the starter then to the battery and finally the fuse block. The link to the starter is the weakest. The battery to starter cable is satisfactory, it has to handle the huge starter current. I have not investigated the battery to fuse block cable. I would wager a doughnut that it is also in need of upgrading. To install a cable from the alternator to fuse block ,in my mind, would seem labor intensive. The cable I installed from the alternator to the starter only took a few minutes and took care of the not-fully-charged-battery problem. I am planning on running a wire to boost headlight voltage in the future. Drive Safely & Good Luck Ken Lewis<Kernersville,NC>86 VW crewcab;60 T-5 Coupe
