The key word being ROBUST faq -- something that has answers/insights/optinions to the thirty (or more) most frequently asked questions -- questions that repeatedly account for 30% of the "chronic" traffic on the list. Remember, these are questions that contribute to the overwhelming numbers of posts. And it is the sheer volume that is turning people off. Suggesting that people search the archives is a non-answer!

The existing faq (sorry Ron) while a good start, is "fairly" shallow. However, to be fair, some subjects ARE treated deeply. Unfortunately, other subjects covered by the current faq don't offer much in the way of alternates/options (e.g. the aux battery faq) -- this in spite of the fact that the current faq was, and is, a labor of love and we should thank Ron for his efforts to date.

If we can gather a team of editors to thoroughly cover one subject each, the volume of email will be reduced -- especially if new users are reminded that this new faq exists and, due to its robustness, probably has the answers to their questions!

Cheers,

MJS

Much of the frustration is with the VOLUME of mail, not necessarily its content.
