Hi Steven.


I had this problem a few months back which started out like your
description, but slowly deteriorated to a constant surge in
acceleration. Had to shut off the engine and restart several times to
get home. Most of the responses from the list were to check the idle
stabilizer. In the end I swapped my Idle Control Module, had a spare.
This unit is tucked in behind the right side tail light. Solved the
problem. For good measure I also swapped out the idle stabilzer (spare
one). Hope this helps. BTW this item (ICM) is pricey new. If it is your
problem, try a wrecker first and test it.
