Thanks for the replies on the nipples...

You think it's OK to reduce the hose size even though the Fuel pump itself has a 1/2" intake? And, I think the 1/2" Pump is standard (I've seen two, both from later model vanagons and both with the 1/2" inlet). I just wonder why a pump with a 1/2" intake would get a 1/4" hose running into it.
