There is an article at http://www.vanagon.com/info/articles/oil_pressure_problems.html that talks about this problem; however, before you go through all of the trouble of replacing you sender unit or whatever, first check your wiring. I had a similar problem with my '90 and found that the sending wire had fallen against the header pipe. the insulation had burned and the bare wire was grounding against the header pipe. some electrical tape and a cable tie solved my problem, I hope that is all you have to do.
