Had this problem awhile back, and it had nothing to do with the oil filter. I used all types and had the same problem. What it turned out to be was the oil it's self. The oil you put in may be too light for the area and type driving that you do. I was using 10W40 in Hawaii I have since switched to 20W50 and have had no problems.. Hope this helps.
