Thanks for all your helpful posts! Now as Paul Harvey would say its time for "The rest of the story..." I have decided to buy the 87 regardless of engine problems... (87 GL full camper, five alloys, ac power steering, slight seem rust at a price that would make it OK to replace the engine if necessary) The deal is this, even though the owner says it overheats after 50 miles I am really wondering if there is a head gasket problem. Even though it had been sitting for weeks (months?) before I saw it doesnt smoke or run rough on start up as I would expect... Someone suggested a clogged radiator or an improperly bled system... Any Ideas? The main rub with the purchase of this van is that it is over 400 miles away from me (boston area). I am trying to decide whether to rent a truck etc and tow it home of get it fixed locally and drive it home.... Any suggestions? Thanks don |
