Hopefully the following diagram will help (NOTE: the "[" and "]" are large gauge screw-down connectors a la high-end car audio):
aux battery ]------[ relay ]-------------------- 60amp inline fuse -----[ battery 4ga wire under car
NOTE: the fuse (located near the main battery) is necessary in case of catastrophic grounding of the 4ga wire which would result in a fire for sure.
