Trevor - Kinda hoped no one would ask! Wrapped a non-microwave, super supreme, pizza in lots of aluminum foil, wedged in in on top of the engine and spent 2.5 hours of driving in the rain and 45F weather to #2 daughter's. Had high hopes, but it looked and tasted like it had come out of a microwave! Allison thought it was a very "gross" idea, to begin with. Finishing it off in her oven really didn't seem to restore it, either! 128F after 45 minutes driving in 40F weather, eh? Doubt that it would get much hotter, even after an hour or so. I really do suspect my '74 van's engine box was hotter. Maybe there's just too much free air circulating in our wasser engine box? Of course, this summer, a 40-50 degree increase in ambient temp might help? Maybe rerouting the exhaust through a heat-exchanger containing a nifty little "oven"? BOB - WA4RRN '85GL |
