Dear Bill,

Hopefully the following diagram will help (NOTE: the "[" and "]" are large gauge screw-down connectors a la high-end car audio):

aux battery ]------[ relay ]-------------------- 60amp inline fuse -----[ battery

4ga wire under car

NOTE: the fuse (located near the main battery) is necessary in case of catastrophic grounding of the 4ga wire which would result in a fire for sure.

I also wondered why a fuse or circuit breaker would be needed at all since with #4 wire and a 100 amp battery switch the system would seem to be designed to handle more than the alternator can put out.
