Subject: Opinions on AVP / Rebuild Survey
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

Sorry about the previous posting. I had trouble accessing the archives. Have done more homework. Have decided on Longblock. I am leaning toward an AVP 1.9 to 2.1 conversion for the westy. Opinions solicited for the following:

1. Any bad experiences with AVP? The archives show few.

2. Opinions on the bored out 1.9 to 2.1 conversion. Does this decrease longevity? Any reason not to do it (other than $300)

2. How many miles does one expect to get out of a replacement motor? My original went 90,000 until new heads, then another 90,000 until 2nd head failure. Does this hold for rebuilds also?

3. How many actual miles on your rebuild? I looked in the archives but did not find this consolidated anywhere. I will happily post a synopsis of what I learn if you will email me 1. Vendor 2. How many current miles? 3. If heads failed again, how many miles. Complete motors only. If this is already in the archives, any hints on how to find it would be much appreciated.
