I've been using the Bosch plugs with three electrodes. They are what is called for in my '85, and they have worked very well.

I think the theory is that whichever electrode has the least resistance will receive the spark, thereby letting the plug run cooler (hotter metal = more resistance?). I got 100,000 miles out of the last set, after which the center electrodes were kind of eroded to nubbins.

Per,

I use NGK plugs in all my equipment. My experiance with Bosch is that when they start to get old, they go bad very rapidly. The NGK seem to have the same level of performance right through the time that I replace them.
