I have read with interest the idea of ceramic coating the Vanagon heads
to not only achieve better thermodynamic properties, but to also
alleviate the corrosion problem.


I emailed FastGermanAuto asking about this, and they responded to NOT
ceramic coat the heads because the coating would be thick enough to
impair sealing of the heads.


Does that sound reasonable to the listees?
Does anyone have experience with ceramic coated heads?


I find it difficult to believe that such a small thickness would
adversely effect the sealing of the heads - but then, I'm sure that
FastGermanAuto has rebuilt many more motors than I ever will.


Anyone care to comment??
