For those of you following my saga (87 GL Head Problems) Thanks for all your imput! I finally got the westi home from boston (car carrier) and after MUCHO Cleaning Im ready to tackle its overheating problem... The PO was convinced that the engine needs replacing but it certainly runs very nice. I find no visable leaking of coolant but the PO said the cooling system Pressurizes after 30 to 50 miles of highway driving. I attempted to bleed the cooling system today per Bentley. I raised the front with a floor jack and jackstands and ran the engine at 2000 RPMs I was greeted with Lots of escaping air but I never had ANY coolant come out of the bleeder on the radiator... Whats up with that? Any Ideas? Could the radiator/and or pipes be blocked? Water pump bad? Inquiring minds want to know. Don Record York, PA |
