My 84 GL (100K miles) 4 speed transmission appears to have "dropped a fork". 1st and 2nd feel fine but the tranny stays in neutral. The linkage looks fine, and I can't get it in gear by moving the lever off the side of the tranny with the linkage disconnected. Reverse, 3rd, & 4th are fine. Interesting enough I have just replaced my leaking clutch slave cylinder which was causing some intense neutral to first shift action at the stop lights. I am seriously considering breaking it open to replace the fork myself. What do you think are my chances of success? I would appreciate any recommendations. I have the Bently book. Thanks. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com |
