Hello Everyone, My fairly new to me (4 months) 85 Westy doesn't like to shift when the engine is cold. If I warm it up for 10 15 minutes it appears to be o.k., but if it hasn't been warmed up for a significant amount of time, when I drive off with the tranny in drive it will not shift out of first until I drive for about 1/2 mile. After that it works fine. I have talked to my mechanic (trustworthy and honest) about this and he found that a seal has broken and the atf has mixed with the gear oil. According to him, the combination of the broken seal since who knows when and the shifting problem says tranny replacement time. She only has 107,000 miles on her. What do you think? Thanks, Kirk Stock _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com |
