Call your local water or solid waste authority to see if you are allowed by law to pour it down the drain and/or where you can drop it off. The treatment plant may not be able to treat the waste water for the chemicals in antifreeze. You might also consider storing it for the next household hazardous waste disposal day (if your area has them). ><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>:-) Phillip -----Original Message----- From: Mark McCulley [mailto:transporter99@HOTMAIL.COM] Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 1999 1:22 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: proper disposal of used antifreeze

What is the environmentally proper way to dispose of used antifreeze? In WA, all the FLAPS are required to provide for collection of used motor oil but there is no such provision for other toxic fluids. The only option I see is to carry the stuff in the house and pour it down the drain. That way, it gets treated by the sewage plant and doesn't go directly into the local river, lake, ocean, etc. Is there a better solution?
