Subject: extractor exhaust?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I was thumbing thruough Rocky Mountain Motor Works and noticed that they sell extractor exhausts for Vanagons that aren't any more expensive than regular exhaust stuff. It claims that these add some horsepower.

I think I understand basically the concept of an extractor exhaust, but how do they go about "extracting?" Does anyone have enough experience with these things to know whether or not I would get a noticable advantage on an air-cooled with one of these?

What kind of noise level do these things put out? Is it going to "muffle" at all or will it sound like those annoying (imho) glasspacks that everyone around here seems to have on their trucks?

thanks, mac == Residential Life Coordinator, Berea College
