Hello nigel , The Audi/VW 5 Cly. have a redline above 6000 RPM. The Power range start at approx 1600 RPM and goes untill 5000 RPM,with 5800 RPM you still have 75 % of the peak power. With your Syncro you will be able to get approx. 100 Miles high speed with a Audi 2.3 l engine with out reaching the RPM limit. My Vanagon 2WD/4 speed with the 2.14 l engine and 103 hp runs smoth at 75 m/h and accelerat even on a hill easy beyond 85 m/h . If you like to drive a 5Cyl. Audi give me a call 925 606 8797

Livermore ,CA 94550 near San Francisco

Sincerely Detlev
