Eckie - "Av-gas", eh? I grew up in Naples, FL. Back in the 60's, we had one of their stations which sold 100octane which we'd run in our outboards. Never found any valves, though, in our 2-strokes!

Everclear works well, BUT it IS expensive! I also use it to clean my OHIO anesthesia machine, dissolve warts and, in the proper amount, help cats and dogs come out of anesthesia easier (works better in dogs, though)! I used to be able to get laboratory-grade grain alcohol from the chemistry department at our local University for $12/gallon, but my source in now in prison for diverting too much of the stuff.
