You are an old fart.  We lived in Orlando and Kissamiee in 1956 to 59.  My
dad worked for Martin-Marietta at a place called Cape Canaveral on something
called cryogenic fuels for rocket engines.  The av-gas I referred to was
aviation fuel 100+ octane.
We used Everclear when I was in college.  I think I remember using it to
clean carb parts on an old '57 VW van.
