Mike,
I buy and sell '60's and '70's cars.  I keep them to daily drive.
I find the best time to buy is fall and early winter.  Buyer's market seems
to be late Dec thru Feb. I have good experience buying out of Autotrader -
Old Car Trader.
I have bought a few from various internet ads.  The best area for me has
been north (Minn, Wis, Ill,).
To almost always seller comment is "I need to sell it before I have to store
it for the winter."
