Had this problem.The odometer shaft has slipped out of it's locating
hole.What I did was remove the instrument panel (remove cover,disconnect
speedo cable,electrical connector and 4 screws ).
With panel out,remove the speedometer (4 screws-DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN when
reinstalling as it breaks the plastic housing).I think you then remove
speedo needle and face to access odometer. You will notice that one end of
the shaft has popped out of its locating hole-just pop back in.Then
reassemble.I have done this twice in 4 years.
