Has anyone ever had to replace the tiny universal joint in the steering (power steering, 86 syncro). Bently describes it as "universal joint between the steering gear pinion and transfer gear connecting shaft". It is right at the actual steering gear. Dealer wants $270 (can) or something stupid. Does anyone know of an alternative, or has anyone ever measured the joint. I could take it apart and find one, but I can't do without the van for that long. Any help appreciated.
