>Does anyone know of any way to torque axle nuts to the torque specified >without driving to a garage that has a 4-foot torque wrench. > >I have heard about using an extender bar, and a smaller torque wrench, but >I don't remember the math. > >Any suggestions would be great. how to get 360ft-lbs torque? uh, put a 360 lb guy on a one foot bar? OR put a 150 pound guy on a 2 foot bar? OR put a one pound guy on a 360 foot bar? Seriously, If I understand this correctly, any variation in angle between the true torque wrench and the extender will result in a "false" torque acheived. Maybe Yau-Man (physics guy) can be of help here?
