I was thinking about the strange coolant hoses that VW put on the diesel Vanagon, and I have a few ideas-anyone care to offer their thoughts on this? Why can't the hose runs be set up exactly the same way as the diesel Golf, Jetta, etc? One radiator hose in, one hose out. One heater hose in and one out. And on the one heater hose line, a fitting for the coolant expansion tank. Air bleed hose off the cyl. head hose fitting. Works on those cars, why not the Vanagon? And you could replace the Golf / Jetta style expansion tank cap with the Vanagon (gas) style cap and retain the other overflow tank. Is it all just a grand scheme for VW to squeeze another couple hundred +ACQAJA- from us? Karl |
