Sorry to ask so many questions but this is my first wasserboxer.... I have just completed replacing the head gaskets on my 87 GL and I cant get it to start and run correctly. Symptoms- I cranked the van with the main (coil) lead until the oil light went out. After I reconnected the coil the van would not start. I finally got it to sputter and BARELY run ( about 1000 rpms max) seems to be running very rich?? I have spark of course at the distributor and plugs. Ox sensor light and Battery light stayed on even when it was running (wheezing :-) Any Ideas? Things I have already checked_ Plug wires not switched. Spark at dist and plugs. Ran well before the head job...what does that say about my mechanical ability.. Don Record 87 Westy GL On the road soon, I hope. |
