Subject: Rough running 86GL and 87GL
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

My car is the 86GL. It likes to idle at 2000rpm. It sometimes drops below this to around 1000 but is kind of rough at that speed. It will, once in a while, just stop completely. It always starts right back up.

My wife has the 87GL. A week ago she reported that it was "lurching" and she was afraid to drive it. We had it towed home and the next day I looked at it. I could not see anything obviously wrong. I drove it and it seemed fine. I drove it for a couple of days and had no problems. Yesterday she told me that it did it again. I think I got a better description of "lurch". It appears to have lost power. The engine didn't stall, it continued to run but had no power. Thinking about what I had done (nothing), she turned the ignition off and then started it back up. It started fine and ran fine.

Any ideas on either of these problems??

Thanks, I know there will be help forthcoming.
