I have no experience doing body work on a Vanagon and wanted some opinions.

I have an 80 VanagonL and it was a bit rough when I got it last year. Since then I cut a right turn too tight and cave the back of the sliding door and the front of the right rear wheel well panel. It isn't too bad. Things still function.

I also have a couple small dents in the roof and some odd pings here and there. Mostly there is just a fair amount of rust spots coming from around window seals.

I figure the only/best way to fix the rust around the window seals is to pull them, sand and grind and primer and reinstall the windows with new seals but that is a bit pricey....add up all those seals and the van probably isn't worth that.

Mostly I wanted to know if getting under the headliner and tapping out roof dents is a big job or if I should just fill 'em in with plastic.

I'd appreciate any experiences or advice anyone had to offer. Thanks in advance.
