When I disconnect the plug on the air flow meter on my 84' it dies. It could be the idle stabilizer. The bentley explains how to check that very easily. You disconnect the two plug that go to it and connect them together. If the hunting stops, the idle stabilizer is bad. If it continues I do not know where to go from there. Just my thoughts.
