for what it's worth, the people at BASF (who make the VW coolant)
said they also make the factory coolant for Mercedes, Porsche,
Volvo, and Audi. the difference? the color. yup. that's what he
said. some want blue, some want clear, and so forth. he also said
the trick to long life was replacing the coolant ... which
replenishes the anti-corrosion additives in the coolant.
