Hi Joe,

There is not a lot that you have to know about this AFM. 1 The air vane (flap inside the meter) must open freely, smooth with on restrictions other then the spring tension. 2 on page 24.45 of the Bentley you will find the test for the AFM step 1 and 3 are clear. It is test 2 that I unclear. Bosch has a better way of testing this. Remove the black cap and connect a volt meter (analog meter it is easier to see the results) to pin 2 and 3 of the potentiometer (you will find the numbers if you unplug the 4 pin wire at the AFM) then plug the wire back in and turn the ignition on then slowly open the air vane it should start at 0.2-0.3 volts and then slowly move to 4.5 Volts with on jumps.
