Forgive me if this has been discussed ad nauseum...(even if I can't spell it...) Went to one of my local VW dealers yesterday, to pick up a couple gallons of coolant. What's the deal here? Are these yahoos the only ones that sell a coolant suitable for my Vanagon? I purchased 3 gallons, and left the dealer with $48 less in my checking account. I fully expect the Autobahn stuff to be a little more expensive, but $14.50 a gallon?!? Good grief!! My wife was/is all p****d off that I spent the money, I'm feeling ripped off by the dealer... What's the alternative? Alan Bosch '88 Wolfsburg (Phred) BTW, highlight of an otherwise dismal dealer dealing was my chance to drive a '99 EV. This was set up like a Carat - fold out table, seat/bed combo, jump seats, those quirky little fold down cup holders. VR6 powerplant, auto. Nice van. Very different from a Vanagon. And very different from my wife's Crapsler thingy she drives. |
