My 1981 VW Transporter (2 Litre Air-cooled) has a problem with the heater controls. When heater control is moved to the left to turn off the heat, it works fine. This indicates that there is no problem with the twin cables to the heat exchanger pods which, when doing this, are being pushed closed.
However it takes a lot of force to move the control slider to the right and pull the cables to open the heat exchanger pods and turn on the heat . This is the opposite to what I would expect (pull easy - push hard). The heat output is also very low compared to other WV's, despite having new heat exchangers fitted last summer. Can anyone please suggest where the problem lies? TIA Frank Woodcock |
