I saw a wierd syncro for sale in Mill Valley, across the Golden Gate Bridge from S.F. while i was at the BMW dealer picking up a radiator hose for my new 1985 BMW 325e.

It was a 1990 with 66,000 miles and Oregon tags. It was in fait-to-good condition. and had the following wierd mods:

The lower body panels that the 91's have along the lower edge of the body were added, but these were painted black to match the bumbers. It look liked they were put on with caulk...not too clean.

It had a rear tire carrier bolted to the rear hatch. It looks good from a distance, but up close is of questionable engineering...would not want it on rough dirt road.

It had 15" alloy wheels from Italy...MOMOs...with B.F.Goodrich LT 235 75R 15 tires...very heavy duty looking....not sure about clearance upon bottoming out, but looked ok. These were an interesting compromise...a syncro 15"

The bottom of the luggage rack was cut out....and a sky light was placed in the ceiling there over the driving area in its place.

The pop top had a largish sliding sunroof ...about 4' long by 24" wide that retracted like the big sun roofs in the old busses....the engineering on this looked similar to the spare wheel carrier and the body panels...kind of rough.

All of this for only $21,500 (the blue book from the wwww was pasted to the window showing a list value of $24,000.) Gosh...mine must be worth $30,000. Call 415 381 1545
