And while everyone condemns NT or Linux for crashing or being inadequate,
can anyone name an OS that has never crashed? Can anyone name an OS that
meets every user need regardless of the demand load?

So, doesn't it make sense to use what is optimal (finance & need based) for
our situation, AND what the list admin is comfortable working with!?!
Especially since, I doubt you have come up with that non-crashable system
yet. If someone is so very sure that one system is so much better than the
other, than they could volunteer to run the list and maintain that wonderful
system. Otherwise, let's not waste too much more time trashing Bill Gates;
If you had been in his shoes and seen the same opportunities, can you
honestly say what you would have really done? (I'm no MS flunky, I just
don't see the point of going into Bill's climb to stardom.)

I just want to repeat what Ron said: If David Marshall is most comfortable
with NT, then we should use NT.  If he's comfortable with Linux, then we
should use that.  One thing that we *should* keep in mind is that we own
ListServ for NT, and ListServ *is* more robust than MajorDomo.

And, no....I'm no computer engineer, or LAN wizard; but, last I heard common
sense still works with regard to computers.....so that's what I use. I have
yet to be superseded by some AI program.
All done, ready to hear about the toes I probably just stepped on.
