I also agree about drilling holes in my pop top. But I have to say, that I have read may posts over the past several months regarding roof racks mounted on the pop top by drilling holes, and I have yet to see anyone claiming to have had a problem with that type of installation. Lots of people have done it, lots of people have expressed the fear of doing it, but I haven't heard of an actual problem with it. I haven't done it to mine yet. But I probably will when I take my kayak down to Baja. Agreed! I would have never considered drilling into my old 1982 diesel, which I owned for most of the '80's. However, this puppy already came with holes, so we're considering working with them *if* they're positioned well. Interested in feedback & will study the situation further.
