Subject: Autobahn coolant...
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Forgive me if this has been discussed ad nauseum...(even if I can't spell it...)

Went to one of my local VW dealers yesterday, to pick up a couple gallons of coolant. What's the deal here? Are these yahoos the only ones that sell a coolant suitable for my Vanagon? I purchased 3 gallons, and left the dealer with $48 less in my checking account. I fully expect the Autobahn stuff to be a little more expensive, but $14.50 a gallon?!? Good grief!! My wife was/is all p****d off that I spent the money, I'm feeling ripped off by the dealer... What's the alternative?

BTW, highlight of an otherwise dismal dealer dealing was my chance to drive a '99 EV. This was set up like a Carat - fold out table, seat/bed combo, jump seats, those quirky little fold down cup holders. VR6 powerplant, auto. Nice van. Very different from a Vanagon. And very different from my wife's Crapsler thingy she drives.
