Sure, heating with used oil (engine,tranny,rear end, old diesel,brake fluid ) is common. Burning engine oil is the only way to Dispose of old oil according to EPA. Used engine oil in my area is collected and dumped into bunker oil that the ships burn. Heating with the oil is expensive however. The expense comes from buying a propper used oil heater. I priced one that will heat 3000 sq feet and burn 1gal. per hour. About 4000 bucks with a 250 gallon tank. They work with a thermostat .The company is called Omni.
