Hi Volks, I think we are on to something here and there have been some good ideas put forth. I like the idea of lubricating the cvs without getting covered with lubricant. There have seen several posts on this and maybe we can engineer a better mouse trap. I like the idea of replacing the lubricant rather than adding some, but maybe this would be a good compromise. The following has possibilities but needs more thought and maybe some one will have improvement or a better idea. I think it might be possible to use a dremel tool to groove the cv joint where it mates to the flange. Groove it from a bolt hole inward. Now all we need to do is get lubricant into the bolt hole. Maybe it would be possible to drill and tap a zerk into the outer surface of vc joint orientated such that it will deposit its lubricant into the bolt hole and eventually on into the flange center and with enough pumping of the lubricating gun, out through the cv joint into the boot where we can allow it to escape next to the shaft. This would tend force out the old as it was replaced by new lubricant. I feel no one is still with me at this point but just in case, if the cv is too hard to drill and tap it may be necessary to make a special hollow bolt that has a zerk welded to the end. This zerk / bolt would need to be screwed into the cv hole where the cv is slotted on the flange end. Some listee may have the tools to make and market such a bolt. I want to buy the first one. I will try to find some time today to try drilling and taping a cv joint, and maybe someone will come up with a better way of doing the whole operation.

Darrell
