Find a carpet and upholstery cleaning company that specializes in auto interiors. Works great, and does an amazing job of getting stains & smells out. Check around and ask for references, as they are NOT all the same. Costs about $125, a lot better than getting the van re-upholstered!

....or, if your are in a tight spot after forking over the cabbage for your new wheels, rent a tank and nozzle type home carpet cleaner, and do it yourself. Costs about $40 with all the chemicals (make sure you get the disinfectant!). The downside: it takes four to five hours, and those little machines don't get anywhere near as much filth out as the commercial ones. Plus they leave more moisture in the materials, which takes a couple days to dry.

Good luck,

My newly acquired 1990 Westie has greasy/dirty upholstery and floor covering. Any suggestions for cleaning or replacing? Thanks, Gordon Bonham
