rename the whole thing "Folkswagen" !

and offer VWoA to build links to their sites into your start-up page with
the disclaimer.

And honestly I think it is not only their legal right but simply VW's
company, do you own shares ?

Best, non confrontational approach would be to convince the PR Dept. or
their Marketing arm that you are doing a great promotion for their products
- for free and you would submit editorial,opiniated contents for approval
and allow them to have "newsflashes" published with you.
