Thanks Joel, pretty much what I thought, but you know, I still cant believe
that any VW mechanic would actually lie about the rack, what have they got
to gain, theyre so busy they couldnt fix it for a month anyway.....On the
other hand maybe others have tales of how this happened to them? Either way,
I think ill head down to my local (nonVW) garage for a second check of the
rack. Here in Norway these `faults`have to be fixed if the truck is to stay
