Subject:      Smoke, acrid smell from new muffler

I just installed a new muffler and tailpipe on my 87 Westy. I drove it for
a five minutes and noticed smoke and an acrid smell emanating from the
rear.  Is this paint and coatings burning off from the muffler and
tailpipe? Or did I do something wrong? Thanks. -- John
