Hi all, I've received my new '89 Westy Syncro, and it's every bit as wonderful as I thought it would be... I'm in the process of making it legal, and I noticed something in the manual that worries me a little...on page 73, in the "Vehicle Operation" section, it reads: "Performance testing If the Vanagon/Transporter Syncro requires testing on a dynamometer (engine output analysis and brake test) the transaxle drive shaft must be disconnected. The differential lock must not be engaged."
Does anyone know whether the two-speed dyno emissions tests would also do whatever they're worried about in the paragraph above? I don't think Virginia has replaced all of the emissions stations with dynos yet, but they're planning on it, and I don't want to be surprised. Thanks, --Bob, KE4GDC 89 Westy Syncro |
